"The Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to come. And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."
Gospel according to St. Luke, Chapter 10
To date, more than 20,000 local homes have been visited by a team of parishioners. We knock on the door and simply offer an invitation to join us on Sunday. It's a simple invitation and a calling card with information about the Church and parish.
This is an encouragement to each of us to invite those we encounter every day to join us on Sundays.
We plant seeds. God alone knows if and when they will grow.
We don't proselytize, get involved in theological debates, use charm or alluring baits. But we do, however, provide complimentary coffee and donuts on Sunday!
We follow the example of the Sower that Our Lord spoke about.
“A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seeds fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured them. Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they had not much soil, and immediately they sprang up since they had no depth of soil, but when the sun rose they were scorched; and since they had no root they withered away. Other seeds fell upon thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them. Other seeds fell on good soil and brought forth grain, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty."
The Gospel according to St. Matthew, Chapter 13
Every one of us can further the Kingdom of God by a simple invitation to your friends, neighbors, colleagues and those you meet along the way, to join us at church on Sundays.
