St. Margaret Parish Youth Sacramental Preparation for Catholic Schools, Catholic Home Schools, Public Schools and Private School Students

According to Diocesan Policy, all children registered in St. Margaret Parish are required to register with the Parish for sacramental preparation in order that the Pastor may be assured of their proper Catholic formation.  This registration process is conducted through the Parish Religious Education Department on the white registration form.  The Religious Education Office is also available to parents as a resource and support in the catechetical development of their children.

When a child has reached the appropriate age, parents should place a request to receive the sacrament using the gold form on the pamphlet racks of the narthex just inside the main door of the Church.  Children should be at least 7 years of age in order to begin preparation for First Holy Communion beginning in September. The children will also be prepared for the Sacrament of Confession to precede First Holy Communion.  Those wishing to receive Confirmation should be @ 15 yrs. of age by the time of Confirmation in the Spring. The gold form should be sent to the Religious Education Office or the Parish Office along with a copy of the child’s Baptismal Certificate.  Children who were baptized at St. Margaret’s do not need to provide a Baptism Certificate, but please note this on the gold form. If a parent is requesting the sacrament of Confirmation for their child, a copy of the First Holy Communion certificate should be submitted as well.  All Children should have had at least one full year of Catholic Religious Education immediately prior to their sacramental prep year.
